As Chicago is poised to lead the nation in quantum tech, the Tech Group at the Union League Club of Chicago (ULCC) will host a series of events on the subject to help its constituents best understand how this groundbreaking technology is shaping the future of the city and its economy.
This inaugural meeting, hosted by ULCC's Tech Group in partnership with quantum clubs from UChicago, UIC, Northwestern and Purdue, will feature Dr. Benjamin Hall, Quantum Computing Scientist at Infleqtion, specializing in quantum algorithms and compilation.
Dr. Hall holds a dual Ph.D. in Physics and CMSE (Computational Math, Science, and Engineering) from Michigan State University and B.S. in Physics and Applied Mathematics from the University of Rochester. His doctoral research was in the application and optimization of near-term quantum algorithms for many-body nuclear physics. His extensive quantum background was further developed through research conducted at the NASA Ames Research Center, as well as Los Alamos, Oak Ridge, and Argonne National Labs. In his current role at Infleqtion, Ben has helped expand the capabilities of Q-CHOP, a novel quantum annealing algorithm for constrained optimization problems, developed a novel algorithm for a non-linear product of a set of quantum states, and invented an efficient way to detect and map star topologies to linear topologies for near term quantum hardware.
