About This Program

What It Is About?

This event will help us explore another emerging field where QIST (Quantum Info Science  & Technology) intersects with, and eventually transforms, Banking and Finance. We  will start with a brief, layman's intro to some of the key concepts  involved, followed by talks from two top experts hailing from Canada  (via Zoom).

The Speakers

  1. Vladimir Skavysh – Data Scientist and creator of the Bank of Canada’s Quantum Lab for Advanced Analytics. He’ll share his perspectives on Quantum Computing in central banking.
  2. Pierre-Luc Dallaire-Demers – Scientist-in-Residence at Quantum City, Calgary, and Founder of Pauli Group. He’ll discuss Quantum Cryptanalysis of Elliptic Curve Cryptography and explain how cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin might serve as the canaries for large-scale quantum computers when they arrive.
